Police arraign Chidinma over alleged murder of super TV boss

The prime suspect in the alleged murder of the late super TV CEO, Ataga Usifo, Chidinma Ojukwu has been arraigned before Yaba chief magistrate court.  Magistrate Adeola Adedayo on Monday ordered that Chidimma be remanded in a correctional facility for the next thirty days pending the  legal advice from the director, office of the public prosecution over the matter.

Chidinma who was arrested two months ago by officials of the Lagos state police command appeared in court on Monday and was represented by her counsel  Babajide Martins.

The counsel to the police Cyril Ejiofor asked the court to remand Chidinma and one Adedepo Quadri for their alleged complicity in the death of Ataga Usifo pending the determination of the court of their alleged culpability in the crime.

In her ruling magistrate Adedayo explained that in view of no opposition from the defense counsel, the two suspects should be remanded as requested.

The case was later adjourned until September 5th, 2021 for review of the remand DPP’s advice.

The second defendant, Adedapo Quadri had no legal representation during the sitting.
