The Police in Gombe State command have confirmed that it has arrested one hundred and eleven suspects involved in various crimes, ranging from attacks on police personnel, to looting of public and private property, and the raising of the Russian flag during the August 1st violent protest in Gombe metropolis.

The police confirmed that no lives were, however, lost as they call on the public to come with confirmation on their properties, while assuring the people that the metropolis and its adjoining communities remain safe.

The police command outlined the crimes committed by the individuals into three categories; Violent protests and attacks on police, Looting of public and private property and Rising of Foreign Flag.

The police further disclosed that ninety-two suspects were arrested for vandalism and possession of stolen property.

Sadly, the police also confirmed the arrest of individuals hoisting foreign flags, especially the Russian flag, which the police described as a crime against the state.

In all, the police assures, it will expand its dragnet to understand the purpose behind the crimes committed, with the assurance of safety for the people.
