Police in Katsina have arrested a 13-year-old errand boy for bandits in Birnin Magaji forest of Zamfara State.
Police spokesman in Zamfara State, Gambo Isah in a statement said, the Police also succeeded in arresting some other notorious bandits, armed robbers, kidnappers and cattle rustlers.
According to Isah, the minor who is from Gidan Kaso Village in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of Zamfara State, is an errand boy to a bandit leader, Ardo Nashaware, based in the Birnin Magaji Forest.
The statement further added that, in the course of investigation, the boy confessed to having been taken from his parents under the guise to rear cows for Ardo Nashaware, but instead, taught him how to operate AK-47 rifle to guard rustled cows and kidnap people.
The boy who demonstrated his skills in handling AK 47, said he was bullied by some elderly bandits, who provoked him to the point where he picked an AK 47 rifle and killed two of the elderly bandits while they were asleep and escaped into the town.

Isah further stated that other arrests include the duo of a 45year old man, Ibrahim Lawal, alias Kabo, of Kabobi village, and a 39-year-old man, Mamman Shu’aibu, of Garin Runji Fulani settlement of Batsari Local Government Area.
The two are said to be notorious bandits, cattle rustlers and members of a kidnapping syndicate that has been terrorizing Batsari and its surroundings.
In the course of the investigation, the suspects confessed to have participated in several attacks on villages in Batsari, adding that they were the masterminds of the abduction of a primary school headmaster, who was kidnapped some months ago, along the Ruma – Batsari road.
They further confessed to belonging to the camp of Dogo Bello, a notorious bandits’ leader terrorizing Batsari, Safana, Danmusa, Kurfi and Dutsinma Local Government Areas.
Other arrests include a syndicate of thieves led by a 28-year-old Nura Salisu.
The gang specializes in burgling houses, stealing of motorcycles and terrorizing the people.
