Police Arrest 307 Suspects, Ban Local Drama Houses In FCT

The FCT Police Command has arrested 307 suspects as Police Commissioner Benneth Igweh personally led newly launched “operation velvet” to raid marked black spot, Gidan Dambe in Dei Dei-Zuba area of the Territory.

The Commissioner of police FCT Benneth Igweh while parading the three hundred and seven suspects arrested for various criminal activities in Abuja, announced the ban on the operation of local Drama Houses to reduce influx of criminal elements from neighbouring communities into the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory.

The worsening insecurity in the Federal Capital Territory has been of concern to many Nigerians and government with suggestions for new and improved approaches to effectively deal with the situation.

The FCT Police Commissioner says the command is ready to build the confidence of the people by taking the fight into the Kidnappers’ hideouts as the command is all out to rid the city of criminal elements.

The over three hundred suspects were arrested from various local Drama Houses across the city and accused of various offences.

The FCT police Commissioner therefore announced the ban on the operation of local Drama Houses to reduce influx of criminal elements from neighbouring communities into the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory.

Altogether, over three hundred and seven suspects were arrested and items such as guns phones and other dangerous weapons were recovered from them.
