A 30-year-old Armayau Ibrahim of Filin Polo Quarters of Katsina Metropolis has confessed to having had unlawful carnal knowledge of a thirteen-year-old girl, which he claims were with the girl’s consent.

According to him, the girl made several advances, asking him to have sexual intercourse with her, to confirm if she is really good in bed, to dispel negative perceptions about her by other men, who claimed she was naive.

He was paraded alongside other three rape suspects and three suspected ‘spirits’, otherwise also known in the Hausa language as ‘Aljanus’, by the spokesman of the police command, Gambo Isah, at the state’s Police Headquarters in Katsina State.

The other suspects are, a 45-year-old Haruna Ahmadu who is alleged to have raped an 11-year-old, and 30-year-old Tanimu Adamu, who was said to have been having unlawful canal knowledge of a 13-year-old since November 2020 till date, luring her with money.

For the 30-year-old Armaya’u Ibrahim, the police spokesman Gambo Isah, said he was arrested for allegedly having unlawful canal knowledge of the 13-year-old girl who hawks cow milk, popularly called Nono in the Hausa language.

While confessing to the crime, the suspect, Ibrahim, said he was approached severally by the girl to have her sexually, but kept turning her down.

He also added that the girl said, she only wanted to confirm if she was sweet and good in bed, because other persons have told her otherwise.

Ibrahim further added that, due to the pressure and incessant disturbance from the girl, he had to give in, which eventually led to his arrest.

He said, he regrets his action and pleaded for mercy.

In another case of rape involving an elderly man, Isah said the man alleged that the teenager always peeped at his manhood whenever he is either bathing or using the convenience

In another development, the police also paraded 3 alleged fraudsters who have been parading themselves as ‘spirits’ called ‘Aljanu’ in the Hausa language.

Isah said they were arrested for defrauding an unsuspecting woman of about 247,000 Naira when she sought for help from them.

The three suspects did not deny the crime, saying they called the woman through her phone and pretended to be spirits.

Other arrests included a notorious Indian hemp dealer. He was caught with 10 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp possession, military camouflage, and fake police ID cards.

Isah further said that investigations are on, into the different cases, before they will be charged to court.
