Four suspected criminals have been arrested for various offences by the Police in Niger State.

Two of the suspects allegedly drugged a businessman and went away with six million Naira.

The other two ransacked people’s houses and dispossessed them of their money and phones.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Wasiu Abiodun, said 27-year-old Abdullahi Maikudi lodged at a hotel in Tegina town, in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.

He was said to have monitored the businessman to establish brotherly familiarity, after which he was offered a drugged cup of tea which made the victim fall asleep.

The suspect quickly gained access to the businessman’s room and went away with six million Naira in a bag.

The suspect was said to have immediately left Tegina for Kano, where he met Rabiu Abdullahi who was aiding him to flee the country.

The two suspects were arrested at Fagge in Kano State where the sum of three million, eight hundred and fifty Naira, and four hundred and ten French Cefa were recovered.

Police operatives attached to Madalla ‘C’ Division were said to have arrested 27- year-old Abdul-Hamid Aliyu, also known as Dogon Soja, and 25-year-old Haruna Saleh.

The suspects were said to be among the four man gang who invaded residents of Nitel, armed with locally made guns and sticks and dispossessed them of their money and phones.

Dogon Soja and one other were initially arrested in 2018 and charged to court for belonging to a gang who killed SP Omale of Borno State Police Command, at a Motel in Madalla.

The Police Command is intensifying efforts to arrest other members of the gang.
