The Nigeria Police, have arrested 43 people in connection with the protests, that rocked Daddara village in Jibia area council of Katsina State by angry youths, over the incessant bandit attacks.
Spokesman of the Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, who made this known in a statement said that, the demonstrators were arrested for setting ablaze a Police Border Control Post Daddara, the Nigerian Immigration Service Check point in Danmasani, one Police border patrol van, and a Volkswagen Gulf III vehicle, belonging to the officer in charge of the police border post. Also burnt, were two AK 47 rifles belonging to the Joint Border Drill Forces, one Ak 47 rifle and a pistol belonging to Police Mounted troops.
According to the Police statement, the angry youths came out in large numbers and blocked the Katsina – Jibia Highway, at Dadda village, smashing and destroying vehicles of security agencies and other innocent citizens along the highway.

Isah added that as a result of the violent protest, the Command swiftly deployed teams from the Police mobile Force and the conventional units to the area, which led to the arrest of the forty-three (43) persons involved.
The Command Spokesman added that, though one life was lost in the fracas, the teams have since brought the situation under control as normalcy has returned.
The katsina state police image maker further said that, preliminary Investigation revealed that, the riot was purportedly sponsored by the smugglers and their agents, who targeted joint border patrol personnel and their facilities.
The Commissioner of Police in the State, Sanusi Buba, has however vowed to deal decisively with the perpetrators and their sponsors,to serve as deterrent to other trouble makers.
