The Plateau State Police Command has disclosed that it has arrested eight persons in connection with the recent killings of villagers within the Mangu Local Government Area of the state.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Julius Alawari, who paraded some of the suspects at the Police Headquarters in Jos, expressed his commitment to work in collaboration with other security agencies to deal decisively with criminal elements in the state.
The task of fishing out the killers of the recent attacks on the Plateau, particularly that of Mangu, where over 3,000 people have been buried, the situation has been difficult, but it appears that efforts made by security operatives are yielding positive results with the eight suspects arrested.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Julius Alawari, while parading the suspects, advised criminal elements in the state to relocate or be dealt with.
The Police Commissioner also disclosed that, upon assumption of duty, he had studied the security architecture of the state and already deployed new operational methods of tackling the security challenges.
He appealed to the citizens to continue to support the command with credible information, which will lead to the reduction of the crime rate in the state.
