The Police in Niger State have arrested a couple for faking kidnap and demanding five million Naira ransom.

The couple are thirty-nine years old Muhammad Muhammad and thirty-one-year-old Sadiya Umar, both of the Limawa area in Chanchaga Local Government Area of Niger State.

On the fifteenth of this month, according to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent Wasiu Abiodun, Sadiya was reported to have been kidnapped by unknown persons after she boarded a tricycle.

Unknown persons contacted the father, demanding five million Naira ransom, which was later reduced to one million Naira.
