The Police in Katsina State says it has arrested 2 suspected kidnappers, who allegedly demanded Two Hundred and Fifty thousand Naira ransom from a victim
Police spokesman, Superintendent Gambo Isah, while parading the suspect alongside 14 others said, they have also arrested a receiver of stolen items, including 4 iron doors, some beverages, one mattress, 20 sheep, 25 bags of pepper and one generator, amongst others
Isah who gave the names of the 2 suspected kidnappers as Usman Abubakar and Yusuf Ibrahim, said they were between the ages of 22 and 30.
According to him, they were arrested after they made phone calls to one Abdulbasiru Salisu, of Shema Village in Dutsinma Local Government Area, asking him to deposit the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty thousand Naira into an account or risk being kidnapped.
Both suspects confessed to the commission of the crime but said they have repented and pleaded to be forgiven.
Similarly, four other suspected members of a syndicate of burglars, alleged to be terrorizing Katsina and its environs were also arrested and paraded.
The Police spokesman said the four suspects who are between the ages of 18 and 23 were arrested from their hideout while preparing for an operation.

Dangerous items were said to have been found on them, including iron, dagger, machete, hammer, and knives.
He added that a police investigation led to the arrest of a 35-year-old Sabi’u Salisu, suspected to be the receiver of stolen items.
Salisu who said he operates a provision store in the area did not deny receiving the items but said he never knew they were stolen property.
Other arrests made, included 6 suspects alleged to be traffickers of Cannabis Sativa
They were said to have been arrested at Yar’gamji market, in Batagarawa Local Government Area, with quantities of the item and other spirit solutions found in their possession.
The police image maker said, all the suspects will be charged to court, upon the completion of investigation into their cases.
