The Police in Nasarawa State have arrested 21 commercial motorcyclists who allegedly killed a National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, personnel on April 18, in the Karu Local Government Area of the state.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Adesina Soyemi said this in Lafia, while parading the suspects, alongside 29 others, arrested for allegedly committing various criminal offences.

Soyemi said, following a tip-off, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Anti-Cultism Unit and a Crack Team, led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, swiftly mobilised to the scene, at an area known as Koroduma, in One-man Village, located in the state.

He said the police on arrival, found the victim in the pool of his blood and rushed him to the hospital, where the doctor confirmed him dead.

The commissioner of police said that a manhunt for the perpetrators was immediately launched, which paid off, with the arrest of the 21 suspects, who allegedly participated actively, in the lynching of the late NDLEA personnel.

The commissioner who reiterated the commitment of his command to rid the state of criminal elements gave highlights of the feat, recorded between March and April, including the arrest of 12 suspected kidnappers, 11 cultists and 5 others picked up for sundry offences.

Firearms and live ammunition were also recovered within the period.

The State Police Command boss warned all criminal elements in the state, who may be nursing an agenda inimical to the security of lives and property in the state to desist.
