A 19-year-old man, Mustapha Musa is currently cooling his heels at the Niger State Police Command for allegedly robbing female students of the Federal University Minna of their belongings in their hostels.
In a statement by the spokesperson of the Command, Superintendent Wasi’u Abiodun, the suspect was arrested following a distress call that theives were robbing female students in their hostel in the Bosso area of Minna.
The Police patrol team attached to the Bosso Division quickly rushed to the scene and arrested the 19-year-old Mustapha Musa from the ceiling of the hostel at the scene.
According to the statement, it was gathered from preliminary investigation that the suspect is a notorious robber who was identified to have perpetrated a similar act at the Bosso campus’s second gate around February this year.
The following exhibits were recorded from suspects; One sharp knife, seven phones robbed from the students, two power banks, two ear-pods and a bag.
Abiodun added that the suspect is under investigation and will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, for further investigation and prosecution.
