Police arrest suspected Eastern Security Network members in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command of Nigeria has confirmed the arrest of a suspected member of the Eastern Security Network, ESN, in the state.
Command Spokesman Gambo Isah in a statement gave the name of the suspect as 19-year-old Davis Uchenna, also known as, Ibrahim Muhammed.

According to him, “On the 02/11/2022, at about 1945hrs, based on a tip-off, one Davis Eric Uchenna, also known as Ibrahim Muhammed, aged 19yrs, of Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, was arrested at Kofar Sauri Quarters, Katsina, that he is strongly suspected to be a kidnapper”.

Isah said, in the course of the investigation, the suspect confessed to belonging to the gang of the proscribed terrorist group, “Eastern Security Network”, (ESN) with their camp at Akpogozie Forest in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, under the leadership of one Eminike also known as “SAPELE” with over four hundred members, terrorizing the South Eastern states of Nigeria. 

He further confessed that his gang kidnapped someone in Imo State, and collected ten million Naira ransom, but he stole seven hundred thousand naira from the camp and escaped to Katsina State, with one Chukwuemeka and Chinemerem.

According to the statement, the duo of Chukwuemeka and Chinemerem have since left Katsina to evade arrest as the suspect confessed to committing a series of crimes in the South-, east, including armed robbery and kidnapping and other heinous crimes in the eastern states of Nigeria.
