A suspected gun-runner has been arrested by operatives of safe Delta while on a stop and search duty at the Head Bridge in Asaba.
The forty-three year old male suspect, one Friday Emmanuel, from Morsogar, in Ethiope west local government area, was nabbed when his white Toyota hiace bus was intercepted by the police.
After a thorough search of the bus, eight hundred and seventy-five rounds of live cartridges concealed in a sack wrapped with pieces of clothes were recovered.
In another development, the leader of a dreaded kidnapping syndicate known as Joel Joseph, who is a native of Ekakpamre community in Ughelli North local government area of Delta state, was involved in a gun duel with the police during a raid at his hideout.

The suspect sustained serious gunshot injuries and was taken to the central hospital in Ughelli where he died while receiving treatment.
One AK47 rifle loaded with ten rounds of live ammunition was recovered from him while efforts were being intensified to arrest the other gang members.
The command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe in a release issued, has assured all Delta residents that the police under the watch of Abaniwonda Olufemi, will make the state unhabitable for criminals.
