Three suspects allegedly involved in child trafficking have been arrested by men of Ondo State Police Command in a sting operation.
The three suspects identified as Lukman Isiaka, Abosede Olanipekun and Sabira Izuorah, were found with 12 children and 2 toddlers allegedly stolen from Akure, the state capital, and Ilesa in Osun State.

Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi while parading the suspects at the command headquarters in Akure said the children were recovered from an orphanage run by Izuorah in Ihiala, Anambra State, where they were trafficked by a couple, Lukman and Abosede.

Afolabi said some children are currently missing and efforts are being made to rescue them, and the suspects will be charged to court after investigation.

While confessing that he has been involved in the crime since 2023, Lukman, a bricklayer, stated that Izuorah introduced him and his wife to the illicit business and always paid him N500,000 per child, which she in turn sold to her prospective buyers for N1 million and above.
