As part of measures to sufficiently check crime the Benue State Police Command says it will begin to clamp down on unregistered vehicles within the state.
This was contained in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer Catherine Anene.
She said the command observed that the increasing number of unregistered vehicles on the roads was alarming and therefore ordered the enforcement of vehicle (cars, tricycles and motorcycles) registration.
Anene said the action was a step to ease identification and apprehension of criminals.

The command enjoined the people of Benue State to register their vehicles to enable men and officers of the force identify such criminals who would usually use unregistered vehicles to carry out their acts.
She also cautioned Police Officers to be civil and professional but firm while enforcing the law.
