Two weeks after the inauguration of the Katsina State Judicial Commission of Inquiry, the panel says it has received memoranda from some persons in the 3 senatorial zones of the state.

The Chairman of the panel, Justice Abdullahi Bawale, disclosed this, shortly after he led other members of the panel to an advocacy visit to the Emir, and to seek his advise and assistance on making the work easier.

According to Justice Bawale, they have given members of the public 2 weeks to make their submissions, after which they will assess and review them before the inaugural sitting will hold.

While expressing hope that their findings and recommendations will bring about the needed reforms, aimed at bringing about peace and a secured nation, he assured the people of transparency and openness, saying, justice will be served accordingly.

The Emir of Katsina, Abdulmuninu Usman, called on them to be thorough and spell out the adequate punishment for those found wanting. He promised full support, for the panel.

He added that the ENDSARS protest had political undertone, especially when it was hijacked and turned into a looting spree, including the burning of national assets such as the Nigeria Ports Authority.

He says the act threatened the age long peace and unity of the nation.

The emir therefore called on the youths to thread with caution calling for appropriate punishment for offenders to serve as deterrent.
