The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the invasion of a community in Keffi Local Government Area of the state by gunmen, where four students of the state’s university were kidnapped and taken to an unknown destination.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel, in a statement explained that the abduction of the students occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at Angwan Ka’are in the LGA.
He, however, said the Commissioner of Police, Maiyaki Baba, has ordered the manhunt of the culprits to rescue the victims unhurt.
He explained that the police in collaboration with the military, responded accordingly and combed the area, but no rescue of the four victims yet.

The names of the kidnapped students are Rahila Hanya, a 100-level student of the Science Laboratory Technology department; Josephine Gershon, a Computer Science 100-level student; Rosemary Samuel, a 100-level student of Business Administration; and Goodness Samuel, a 100-level student of the Geography department.
The university’s Information and Protocol Officer, Abraham Ekpo, told ait.live via a telephone conversation that official information has been lodged to the institution with respect to the incident, as efforts are on with security operations to rescue the students.
