The Police have confirmed that, an anonymous person from the Katsina State Transport Authority has rewarded Constable Nura Mande, who found and returned missing $800 dollars, an equivalent of N500,000 to an intending pilgrim with the sum of N30,000.
A statement by spokesperson of the Katsina State Police Command, Superintendent Gambo Isah, said that the Constable has since been presented with a letter of commendation as instructed by the IGP Alkali Baba by the Commissioner of Police, Idris Dabban.
According to the statement, Constable Mande was on official duty at the State Pilgrims Welfare Board Hajj Camp where he found the $800 belonging to a female intending pilgrim, Hadiza Usman.
Isah added that, the Police Commissioner is elated over the display of honesty by Mande and called on other police personnel in the Command to emulate him.
He assured that the Command will continue to appreciate its operatives who display honesty and commitment to their duties.
