According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer,Olusola Ayanlade, eyewitness accounts and preliminary investigations verified that the girl was hit by an unidentified driver who fled the scene.

The police who said the incident occurred along the airport road described it as a hit-and-run case involving an unregistered white Lexus vehicle, but not any vehicle in the First Lady’s convoy.

The statement further said that the Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi was personally present at the family’s residence to offer condolences and ensure a transparent investigation
