The Plateau State Police Command has deployed comprehensive security measures to ensure the safe and hitch-free conduct of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations beginning April 16, 2026.
Commissioner of Police, Bassey Ewah, says the move is to guarantee the safety of candidates, officials, and examination materials across the state.

As part of the preparations, the Police Commissioner, alongside members of the Command’s management team, conducted an assessment tour of selected Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres in Jos North Local Government Area.
The centres visited include Zololo Junction, Forestry, and Rikkos.
The Command says the inspection was aimed at evaluating the level of preparedness and ensuring adequate security at all examination venues.

Area Commanders have been directed to replicate similar assessments in their respective jurisdictions and maintain a strong security presence throughout the examination period.
JAMB examinations in Jos metropolis will run from April 16 to April 20, while in other parts of the state, the exercise will conclude on April 18.
The Command warns that any attempt to disrupt the examinations will be met with the full weight of the law.
Residents, parents, and candidates are advised to remain law-abiding and go about their activities without fear, as security agencies remain on high alert.
Emergency lines have also been provided for immediate assistance.
