Police Deploy Special Troops to Curtail Banditry in Kaduna

Three hundred and two officers and men of Mobile Police, Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), and Police Special Forces under the auspices of Operation Puff Adder II, are to deployed to fight bandits in troubled areas of Kaduna state.

The officers and men who are to be deployed to Birnin-Gwari, Giwa, Igabi, Chikun and Kajuru Local Government Areas, are to help in restoring peace in affected areas.

Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Chikun, Igabi and Kajuru local government areas are worse hit by activities of banditry and kidnappers.

In order to curtail activities of kidnappers in these troubled area, the Nigerian Police force is deploying three hundred and two special troops under the Operation Puff Adder 2 to address issues of banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling and armed robbery among others.

Speaking during the flag- off, the Kaduna State Police Commissioner, Umar Muri, charged the troops to finally bring an end to the alarming increase of criminalities in the state in order to restore socio-economic activities that have been held down in the troubled areas.

Kaduna state governor Nasir El rufai , who was represented by the Commissioner for Internal Security Samuel Aruwan charged the troops to consolidate on the successes of Operation Puff Adder 1..
