The Nigeria Police Force, NPF has confirmed receipt of the letter from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC outlining alleged irregularities against the suspended Adamawa State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Hudu Yunusa-Ari during the recently concluded Governorship supplementary elections.
This was made known in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, FPRO, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi who said that the much awaited letter formally requests that the Police investigate and maybe prosecute the REC for his action.

CSP Adejobi also stated that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba has directed an investigative team to work in collaboration with INEC to expedite action on the contents of the letter.
The FPRO further said the IGP expresses the commitment of the NPF to uphold democratic values and assures Nigerians and the international community that the Police will investigate the causes of the REC’s unwholesome conduct and bring all persons identified in the investigations to book.
