Five suspected cultists operating in Ajegunle area of Lagos State, South-West Nigeria have been arrested by the police for allegedly trying to forcefully initiate a victim into cultism.
Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, who made this known said the suspects were arrested by operatives from the Tolu Division in Sunday, July 9 after receiving a distress call around 2am local time about the forceful initiation taking place at a hotel in Ajegunle.

The victim has however been rescued and the suspects according to the police spokesperson will be arraigned after conclusion of investigation.
Cultism remains one of the major security threats to residents of Lagos State and the Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa is calling on citizens to always alert the police about any activity of cultists assuring them of quick intervention by the command.
