Police in Katsina say they have succeeded in gunning down 2 suspected terrorists and recovered one AK 47 rifle.
State Police spokesperson Assistant Superintendent Abubakar-Sadiq Aliyu in a statement said, the incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when the Area Commander in Dutsinma, intercepted many terrorists armed with Ak 47 rifles.

He said, the terrorists upon sighting the police opened fire but the officers returned fire, forcing the terrorists to abandon the gunfight and flee into a nearby bush.
ASP Aliyu added that while combing the scene, the bodies of 2 neutralized suspected terrorists as well as one Ak-47 rifle were recovered with efforts still on to arrest the fleeing suspects.
Police Commissioner Aliyu Musa urged residents of the state to keep providing security agencies with crucial and timely information on criminal activities .
