Police in Katsina say they have killed a suspected terrorist and recovered one general-purpose machine gun, GPMG, live ammunition as well as other dangerous weapons.
The spokesman of the Police, Assistant Superintendent Abubakar-Sadiq Aliyu in a statement said, the incident occurred on June 26, when the command received a report that terrorists in their numbers, armed with dangerous weapons such as GPMG and AK 47 rifles, began shooting sporadically during attack on Ruwan Dorawa village in Dutsinma Local Government Area.

He added that, following the report, the Area Commander, along with the Divisional Police Officer in Dutsinma, led a team of Police operatives to the scene and engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun duel, as a result of which they were forced to abandon their heinous mission.
Aliyu further said, while combing the scene, the body of one neutralised suspected terrorist, as well as one GPMG with 58 rounds of 7.62mm x 51mm live ammunition were recovered.
