Police in gun battle with terrorists in Zamfara, recover rocket propel launcher

The Police in Zamfara State have recovered Rocket Propel Launcher and several locally made guns after a gun battle with suspected terrorists in Bukkuyum, Gummi and Maru Local Government Areas of the State.

The Police response forced the criminals to beat retreat as they escaped into the forest.

This was as the Police apprehended four suspects in connection with cannibalism, selling of human body parts, criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide among other crimes.

The Commissioner of Police in the State, Ayuba Elkana said the suspects were arrested with human parts such as intestines, osaphagus, penis and two eyes.

The Zamfara State Commmissioner of Police, CP Ayuba Elkana listed the names of the four suspects who deal in human parts and engage in cannibalism as Aminu Baba 57 years old, Abdulshakur Mohammed 20 years old, and the other two suspects were between the ages of 14 and 17.

The Commissioner of Police explained that the arrest of the suspects followed credible intelligence report on 28th December, 2021 about 9:00PM local time that a corpse of human being was found in an uncompleted building at Barakallahu area of Gusau Metropolis, with two hands and legs tied with rag and head covered with polythene bag.

The police detective quickly proceeded to the scene found the corpse with some of the human parts removed.

CP Elkana told journalists that during interrogation, the second suspects Abdulshakur Mohammed confessed that this was the third time he was contracted by the first suspects Aminu Baba to source for human parts for him at the sum of five hundred thousand Naira, N500,000.

The first suspects Aminu Baba admitted that he usually pay the other suspects N500,000 each for every supply they make to him.

Police operatives also nabbed a female suspect, Aisha Ibrahim, a Nigerien for stealing her co- wife 2 years old child to sell.

She said her action was in retaliation of the theft of her son by her co- wife.
