Police in Katsina arrests 14-Year Old boy For Banditry, cattle rustling

A suspected 14-year-old boy has been arrested by the police in Katsina State, for allegedly being a bandit, kidnapper and cattle rustler.

Spokesman of the command, Superintendent Gambo Isah, while parading the suspect along with 19 others said, the teenager also shot and killed 2 persons in one of the attacks he participated in at Mallamawa village in Jibiya Local Government Area of the state.

Isah also said the suspect, confessed to having acquired technical skills of operating the AK 47 rifle from bandits in the forest.

The suspected teenager, is from Tsamben Dankulumbo village of Jibiya Local Government Area of Katsina State.

According to the Police spokesman, the suspect is under the command of a bandits’ Commander Maliki, who is hiding in the forest.

Isah also said the suspected teenager has participated in several attacks on villages, within and outside the state, including Mallamawa in the Jibiya Local Government Area where he shot and killed 2 persons and rustled an unspecified number of animals.

He was also involved in Dankulumbo village in Jibiya Local Government Area where about 5 cows were rustled and Kukar Babangida among others.

Too weak to speak up, the suspected teenager, said, he is a bandit, kidnapper and cattle rustler.

He also added that his master and Commander, Maliki, is a fearful bandit hiding in the forest, and has taught him very well how to operate the AK 47 rifle.

The teenager also added that in all the attacks and the number of animals rustled, a total sum of fifty thousand Naira was given to him as a share from the proceeds of the sales of animals and commission for his participation in the crimes.

He, however, said he regrets his actions and wants to be reformed and become a better person in life.

Superintendent Gambo Isah said, efforts have been intensified to arrest the bandits’ commander, Maliki, and others on the wanted list of the police.
