The police in Katsina say they have gunned down one terrorist and rescued a kidnap victim while repelling an attack on Karfi village in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
A statement by the spokesman of the police, Superintendent Gambo Isah says the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday.
Isah also said the attack was repelled when the terrorists, armed with AK 47 rifles and shooting sporadically. invaded the house of one 37 year old Kabir Sule and abducted him.
The Divisional Police Officer at Malumfashi, upon receipt of the distress call, led a combined team of Police and vigilante members to the area.
The state police image maker further added disclosed that one of the terrorists was neutralized while the kidnap victim was rescued unhurt.
He therefore said, search parties are still combing the area in search of more terrorists injured, dead or alive
