The Lagos State Police Command has remanded the leader of a syndicate, Abraham Olamide, for allegedly defrauding some citizens under the pretext of securing jobs for his victims outside the shores of Nigeria.
The suspect, who allegedly obtained large sums of money from his victims, with the promise of free accommodation, free visas, and resident permits, amongst others, kept the victims in a house located around Ejigbo.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, some of the victims reported the matter to the Ejigbo Division of the Command sometime last week, which led to the arrest of the suspect.

According to reports, the victims from various parts of the country allegedly paid large sums of money to the suspect.
The suspect, Olamide, who was arraigned at the Yaba Magistrates Court, Lagos, pleaded not guilty to the offence and has been remanded at the Kiri-kiri Correctional Centre, pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.
