A police inspector has been reported dead, while the Divisional Police Officer, (DPO) of the Isolo Division has been injured along the Apapa- Oshodi Expressway in Lagos, Wednesday, after being attacked by motorcycle operators, also called Okada Riders.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, who made this known, said police officers from Isolo Division had come under attack, while trying to enforce the existing ban on the use of motorcycles in Lagos, resulting in the death of the Inspector.
The police spokesman who said that the command will not be deterred from carrying out its mandate of enforcing duly established laws added that two suspects have been arrested, and forty-one motorcycles impounded.

Hundeyin who said no form of attack on police officers will be tolerated urged citizens to remain law-abiding, adding that both motorcycle operators and passengers will face the full wrath of the law.
