Police Kill Two Suspected Kidnappers, Rescue One Victim In Kogi

Operatives of the Nigerian Police attached to Ife-Olukotun in collaboration with Local Vigilantes have neutralized two suspected kidnappers and rescued one of their victims during a sting operation in Kogi State.

Police Public Relations Officer in Kogi State, William Aya told newsmen on Tuesday that the rescue operation followed a tip-off that some hoodlums had invaded the camp of one Yahaya of Igbo-Ero in Ife-Olukotun and kidnapped him.

The police spokesperson said it was further revealed that the hoodlums kidnapped another victim which they later released after stealing his Ram.

Aya further explained that the Divisional Police Officer, DPO promptly swung into action and mobilized a team of operatives who in collaboration with local vigilantes stormed the kidnappers den and on sighting the joint team, the hoodlums opened fire on them.

He said during the gun duel that ensued, two suspected kidnappers were neutralized while their victim was rescued, with one AK 49 Rifle with 14 Rounds of live ammunition recovered as other suspects escaped with bullet wounds.
