Police, Military, Fulani Vigilante Rescue 3 Kidnapped Victims From Kogi Forest

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force attached to Obajana Division in collaboration with the Army and Fulani Vigilantes have rescued three kidnapped victims during the ongoing raid operations at Ankomi forest in kogi state.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Kogi State Command,
SP William Ovye Aya says all the victims were rescued unhurt after a gun duel with the hoodlums who succumbed due to the superior fire power of the joint security team, abandoning their victims and fled with gunshots injuries into the bush.

According to the statement, the victims comprising of one Musa Abdullahi of Mangu LGA of Plateau State and one Abdulazeez Adamu of Okene, Kogi State were both abducted on 15 May, 2025 from one J5 vehicle along the Osara road on their way from Ekpoma in Edo State heading towards Jos, Plateau State.

The statement explained that the third victim, one Yusuf Ibrahim of Zaria Local Government, Kaduna State was abducted from a trailer on the same date and location.

The kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Dantawaye, commended the joint security team for the outstanding gallantry displayed during the bush combing, while assuring law-abiding people of Kogi State that the police was ever determined to rid Kogi State of all forms of crimes and criminality in collaboration with other security agencies

The kogi State police Command therefore appealed to people of the adjoining communities to be on the lookout for any one seeking medical attention in the nearby areas and report such person to the nearest security formation.
