Operatives of the Nigerian Police Force attached to Okene Division in Kogi State have arrested a 23-year lady identified as Charity Williams and recovered one locally made beretta pistol; the sum of N2,047,300; six rounds of 9mm live ammunition, hard drugs, axe, and four mobile phones during an intelligence led-raid operation.
A statement by the State Command Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, explained that the raid followed an intelligence tip-off that a suspected criminal was sighted at Yuwander lodge, a notorious criminal hideout at Oguda village, Okene.
According to the statement, the Police had immediately swung into action and raided the lodge, upon searching one of the rooms which was booked with the name, Christopher Christopher Kadiri, the female suspect was arrested and exhibits were recovered from the room.
SP Aya, said efforts are on going to apprehend other suspects who are now at large, while investigation is on going.
In another development, Police operatives of Ofu Division, working on an information shared by locals said that some persons suspected to be kidnappers were sighted in a bush at Ogbakpedo village, located along Itobe-Ayingba road.
Detectives were said to be immediately moved to the scene, but the suspects ran away on sighting the Police, though a statement from security agencies noted that a search of the area led to the recovery of one locally made barrel gun, cutlass, techno phone, among others.
The Press statement further stated that Kogi State Commissioner of Police Miller G. Dantawaye, has commended the officers for their dedication to duty and reaffirmed his commitment to the fight against criminality in the State.
