Eighty families of deceased Police Officers in Niger state have received cheques worth over 100 million naira.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Adamu Elleman, while presenting beneficiaries with the cheques at the Police Officers’ Mess, Minna, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun said the gesture was in continuation of the IGP’s welfare initiative under the Group Life Assurance and Family Welfare Schemes for all police officers.

According to him, the cheques, are part of the welfare package for families of deceased personnel, and a token of appreciation to serve as succour to the families they left behind.
The CP urged the families to accept the little gesture as a sign of love, and an indication that they are not forgotten but always in their hearts.

He prayed for the repose of the departed souls whilst urging the families to make judicious use of the token received from the IGP, as well as to always consider the Police Command as their second home for any future assistance.

Samuel Shashere and Esther Guyil, on behalf of the beneficiaries, prayed that God continue to bless the Nigeria Police Force, while admonishing others to make the best use of the resources.
The families appreciated the IGP and the CP for the kind gesture, stating that it had wiped away their tears and given them renewed hope in their despair.
