The Joint Union Congress of the Police Service Commission, PSC has called on President Bola Tinubu, to relieve the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, of his appointment over his alleged meddlesomeness in recruitment of 2023-2024 Police Constables by the Commission.

The workers unions made the call during a media briefing in Abuja on Wednesday. They alleged that some senior officers within the Nigerian Police Force, NPF had attempted to smuggle their candidates’ names during the recruitment process.

While singing protest songs to express their dismay, the aggrieved workers described the claims of irregularities and corruption by the NPF as diversionary tactics.

According to them, NPF intends to prevent the President from noticing the unpreparedness of the Police Training Schools to handle the training of the recruits, owing to the dilapidated state of the facilities.

Trouble began after the PSC recently released 10,000 names of successful candidates employed from the recent recruitment exercise by the Commission.

The list has been rejected by the NPF, that described the recruitment process as fraudulent.
