Operatives from Kebbi State Police Command, in collaboration with vigilantes, have rescued a man abducted by a gang of kidnappers armed with dangerous weapons in Kesan village, Shanga Local Government Area of the State.
and kidnapped one Abdulmumini Ahmadu.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Nafiu Abubakar said that on receiving the report, the Shanga Divisional Police Officer promptly mobilized a combined team of Policemen and vigilantes to trail the kidnappers and rescue the victim.
He said in the process, the unscrupulous elements shot the victim in his left leg, and escaped into the forest.
The police spokesman said the victim was later taken to a medical facility and he is responding to treatment.
Abubakar added that the State Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani has reaffirmed the unwavering determination of the officers of the command in the fight against violent crimes across the state and called on residents to be vigilant and support the police and other security agencies with vital, accurate and timely information about criminals.
