A police officer has been confirmed dead after gunmen numbering about fifteen invaded the Abaji Divisional police Headquarters on Thursday.
The statement by the FCT Police Command said the gunmen also invaded the First Bank PLC in Abaji.
The statement said Inspector HAHILA BOULOUKIYE who was on duty was shot and was later confirmed dead by a medical officer .
Also killed is one suspected gang member who was burnt alive by angry mob.
The statement said the combined team of police and military operatives as well as the Local hunters repelled the attack which led to arrest of Nuhu Musa.
MUHAMMED AMINU an indigene of Abaji was also arrested while a yet to be identified suspect was set ablaze by the mob at the scene of the crime.
A Golf cart, one unused Dynamite explosive and several empty shells of ammunition were recovered.
The statement said the injured police officer and arrested suspects have been taken to the Abaji General Hospital for medical attention while the remains of the police officer and the suspect have been deposited in the Mortuary at University of Abuja Teaching Hospital.
The statement said the police authority and other security agencies are in search of the other suspects still at large while investigation continues
