Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to improve immunisation.
The Governor made the assertion at a 2-day orientation of the 44 Local Government Council chairmen and district heads on Polito Eradication, Routine Immunisation and Primary Healthcare services, organised by the State’s Ministry of Health.
The Governor who was represented by his deputy who doubles as the Chairman of the State’s Task Force Committee on Immunisation, Aminu Abdussalam, stressed the importance of collaboration between government agencies, UNICEF and traditional institutions, in reaching the most vulnerable populations across the State.

UNICEF’s Advocacy Specialist, Priyanka Khanna, urged the Chairmen, traditional rulers and other stakeholders to use their influence, to encourage communities, to prioritise childhood vaccinations, and improve immunisation rates in their areas.
The objective of the meeting was to update the Local Government Areas Chairmen, district heads and other stakeholders, on current health indices, immunisation, polio eradication and zero dose in Kano State.
