As political activities continue to build up ahead the November 8, 2025 Anambra State Governorship Polls, Candidates for two major political parties have emerged.

The ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA has elected incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo to fly its flag, while George Moghalu clinched the ticket of the opposition Labour Party, LP.

The incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo emerged the Party’s candidate and was declared the sole aspirant for the ticket of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA for the November 8, 2025 Governorship election, after over three thousand accredited delegates for the Primary Election cast their ballots.

Some Party leaders told AIT that Governor Chukwuma Soludo deserves a return ticket to the Agu Awka Government House given his record of achievements within the past three years.

In his acceptance speech, Governor Soludo announced the Incumbent deputy Governor, Onyekachukwu Ibezim as his running mate for the second term, urging Party members and supporters to work hard for electoral victory in the coming November 8, 2025 off-cycle Anambra State Governorship poll.

Elsewhere, the Chairman and Returning Officer for the Labour Party Primary Election Committee, Etambene Benedict, declared George Moghalu as the Candidate of the Party after securing majority of the delegates votes.

Moghalu appealed to Party leaders and supporters for what he called “aggressive” reconciliation of all aggrieved members as a way forward.

Reports of the outcomes of primary elections of other political parties in the State are being expected.
