The project, which is also in partnership with Nigeria’s Federal Government, targets increasing school enrolments, and alleviating suffering in poor homes.
The first phase of the Innovative Action for School Feeding Programme, launched in two primary schools in Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State, aims to address the rising cases of malnutrition in the state and at the same time help in improving the cognitive development of school children.
According to the implementing partners, World Bank data indicates that an additional four million Nigerians have fallen into poverty in the last year, an addition to 133 million Nigerians already living in poverty.
