POWA Empowers Late Police Officers Wives, Less Privileged In Bauchi

The President of the Nigerian Police Officers Wives Association has reaffirmed her commitment to uplifting the living conditions of the wives of the late police officers and men of the force.

Dr. Elizabeth Egbetokun, made the commitment at the launching of the empowerment programme, and foundation-laying ceremony, held in Bauchi State, North-East Nigeria.

In an effort to alleviate the sufferings being faced by the less privileged people across the country that the President of the Nigerian Police Officers Wives Association, POWA, Dr. Elizabeth Egbetokun, said she was in Bauchi to honour the wives of late police officers and individuals in the society, through the distribution of various intervention materials, to improve their condition.

She enjoined the women of the late officers and men to demonstrate a high sense of togetherness, by supporting each other, to overcome the present economic hardship. 

 The POWA President had paid a visit to Governor Bala Mohammed and the Emir of Bauchi, Rilwanu Sulaiman, where they thanked her for touching the lives of the less privileged, and called for sustenance of the effort.

A cultural display as well as a gallantry parade performed by the wives of police personnel took place in appreciation of the gesture being made by POWA President.

The visit was wrapped up with the foundation stone laid by POWA President at the Mopol-Ten Barracks in Bauchi.
