Six people have been electrocuted at a rice mill in Wadata area in Makurdi, the Benue State as a result of a sudden electricity surge.
The incident also left three other persons severally injured.
Residents in the area say the power surge occured suddenly and people rushed to disconnect their appliances leading to the electrocution of some.
Yahaya Mohammed a middle aged trader in Wadata market narrated how he lost his and blamed the distribution company for the incident.

When contacted via telephone, the regional manager Jos electricity distribution company Felix Adamu said he is aware of the incident but is yet to visit the scene to ascertain the cause.
