A broadcaster and former military officer, Pete Hegseth has been nominated to be the defence secretary in the incoming Trump administration.
The announcement was made through a statement which quotes Trump as saying “Pete is tough, smart and a true believer in America First, with Pete at the helm, America’s enemies are on notice – Our Military will be Great Again, and America will Never Back Down.”
“Nobody fights harder for the Troops and Pete will be a courageous and patriotic champion of our ‘Peace through Strength’ policy,”.
Trump has also nominated the World’s richest man and owner of X, Elon Musk as Secretary of the yet- to-be established Department of Government Efficiency.
