President Bola Tinubu has appointed Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as the Renewed Hope Ambassador ahead of the national launch of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme.
According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga on Tuesday, the appointment takes immediate effect.
Governor Uzodimma will also serve as the Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation, working closely with the All Progressives Congress leadership and governors to promote and coordinate the administration’s programmes nationwide.
As Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Uzodimma is expected to drive harmony, inclusiveness, and strategic political coordination across all levels of the ruling party.
President Tinubu also directed him to work with APC governors, who will jointly serve as “Ambassadors of Hope,” to deepen public engagement and mobilise support.

The President urged the new Ambassador to intensify efforts in publicising the achievements of his administration since 2023.
The statement highlighted recent economic gains, including a sustained drop in inflation to 16.05% in October, stabilised exchange rates, expanded foreign reserves now above $46 billion, and renewed investor confidence reflected in rising foreign direct and portfolio investments.
Other milestones listed include growth in the solid minerals sector, a booming stock market, the rollout of educational loans to over 700,000 students, and improved passport processing times now reduced to one week.
President Tinubu said Governor Uzodimma’s engagement would help ensure Nigerians fully understand the reforms and progress under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
