President Bola Tinubu has submitted the 2025-2027 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) to the Senate for consideration.
This is contained in a letter read by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio at the start of Tuesday’s plenary session.
According to President Tinubu, the 2025-2027 MTEF/FSP was approved at the Federal Executive Council meeting on November 14, 2024.
He further explained that the Nigerian Federal government’s 2025 budget was prepared based on the parameters and fiscal assumptions outlined in the approved MTEF/FSP.
The President urged lawmakers to give the document a swift consideration and approval.
The request has been referred to the Senate Committees on Finance, National Planning, and Economic Affairs for further legislative action, and to report back as soon as practicable.
