President Buhari approves major shake-up in NSITF management

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reconstitution and repositioning of the Management of the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund, NSITF, for immediate implementation following the recommendations of the Presidential investigative Panel in July 2020 over allegations of financial Misappropriation.

In a statement by General Manager Corporate Affairs, Ijeoma-Oji Okoronkwo, the first phase of the strategic reform was to reconstitute the Executive Management with the appointment of Michael Akabogu, as Managing director and Maureen Allagoa, Temitope Akinwale, and Modu Gana as Executive Directors

The statement said the second phase of the repositioning as approved by the Presidential Report is the redistribution of staff to departments that match their qualifications, experiences and competencies.

The NSITF noted that the exercise which had been duly communicated to staff saw the redistribution of 300 out of the over 5000 staff across various departments, Branches and Regions of the Federation after careful consideration of their core competences, skills, and qualifications.

Some of the redeployment include; Zwalda Ponkap, General Manager from Audit and Inspectorate to Finance, Babatunde Adegoke, a Deputy General Manager and former acting Head of the Lagos Corporate Office redeployed to Head of Investment and Treasury and Nasir Mohammed, an Assistant General Manager Kaduna Regional Office now Heads ICT department in Head Office.

Others are Lateef Musa, formerly General Manager Enforcement redeployed to Lagos Regional Office as the Regional Manager, While Ijeoma Oji- Okoronkwo, formerly General Manager SERVICOM redeployed as General Manager and Head of Corporate Affairs.
