President Muhammadu Buhari joined other Muslims across the globe to celebrate this year’s Eid el Kabir, The President observed the prayers at the popular Kofar Arewa Praying Ground in Daura his home town.

The prayer, led by the city’s Central Mosque Imam, Safiyanu Yusuf, commenced at about 10:00 am, immediately after President Muhammadu Buhari arrived at the praying ground.

After the prayers, the presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu in a message called on Nigerians to be more security-conscious, and be hopeful for a better Nigeria, under President Buhari.
They also called on the elites to be patriotic and assist the president in shaping the nation, rather than seeking foreign intervention in the country’s affairs
The president later met with 92 corps members serving in Daura, and announced the donation of 2 cows and a cash of one million Naira for the corps members, as their Sallah package.
Meanwhile, the celebration is low key in both Katsina and Daura Emirate councils, as they both cancelled the popular traditional Durbar horse riding over security concerns.
