President Buhari calls for speedy, safe rescue of all kidnap victims

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed security agencies to ensure the speedy and safe rescue of all kidnap victims in the country.


Speaking on Monday when he received Residents of the Federal Capital Territory on a Sallah homage at the state house Abuja, The President said the military is doing everything to ensure a safe return for those in capitivity to their families.

The President also urged the railway management to immediately set up a situation room for the coordination of the rescue mission with a minute- by -minute engagement with the families of the Abuja-Kaduna train captives.

The President said the Abuja light rail is one of the major projects embarked on by his administration for the FCT inhabitants adding that the development of infrastructure is essential to economic growth.

In their comments at the gathering, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the FCT Minister Mohammed Bello said despite the various challenges confronting the country it is noteworthy that the country is still together as one.
