President Muhammadu Buhari has commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for rising to the occasion in tackling security threats confronting the nation through combat effectiveness, operational capacity and military training.
The president who gave the commendation at the graduation of 181 middle level officers of senior cause 42 at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, says Nigeria will continue to partner other institutions and nations for the security of the continent.
Represented by the Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi, president Muhammadu Buhari says the response by the Nigerian Armed Forces to the boko haram insurgency, banditry, militancy, kidnapping as well as activities of separatists and other armed militia among others is worthy of commendation.
The president says the multinational corporation in dealing with the security threats in west Africa subregion is yielding results, so graduands must see their training as a call to duty.
On his part, commandant Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Air Vice Marshall Abubakar Liman says the training will enable the officers to multitask while carrying out their military engagement.
13 students from 10 African countries are among the 181graduands.
The senior course is to build capacity of middle level officers and prepare them tactically for military operations.
